Our Mission: To usher in a new era of optimal well-being, health and a better society for all people on Earth.
Three key messages:
• People should own their health and livelihood, but the present restricted governmental approaches have changed sociological, psychological, and welfare models toward dependency.
• The goal is to facilitate optimal health, well-being, which should be assisted by a new politico-social model that focusses on transparancy, is substantiated and respects individual freedom.
• By providing independent, nonsponsored, science-based essays and insights. We aim to reflect on bringing you unbiased (at least we try) information that promotes societal and personal resilience.
A new public health and social culture is desperately needed. A stunning 90% of our ailments are caused by social and ecological determinants. Hence, a pill will not fix the problem!
Humani-Well assists you in regaining control over your personal health and well-being.
Bridging The Knowledge Gap Between You and Biomedical Academia
George Engel advocated for a biopsychosocial paradigm as early as 1977. It assesses the patient’s physical symptoms as well as his or her social and psychological situation.
Recurrent stress, for example, may have an effect on a patient’s weakened immune system.
Aaron Antonovsky developed the Salutogenic Model of Health a few years later to guide a revolutionary health promotion method. The name was taken from the Latin word “Salus,” which means “health,” and the Greek word “Genesis,” which means “origin.” It became recognised as the ‘Origin of Health’ in science. Antonovsky was one of the first scholars to recognise stress as a driving force in the development of a wide spectrum of disorders, and he deviated from the traditional approach to disease (Pathogenesis).
Antonovsky examined all relevant factors that could become stressors. These stress factors are widely documented in science as determinants of wellbeing that influence the physiological functioning of the organism. His goal was to use resources to boost resilience and coping skills. The ultimate goal is to achieve a “Sense of Coherence,” which is aided by three factors known as “comprehensibility,” “manageability,” and “meaningfulness.” Simply expressed, knowing what contributes to poor health, managing it, and creating a fulfilling life.
As an inquisitive human being, you may seek independent, evidence-based, up-to-date, and cutting-edge information. We consider all evidence, including that from non-traditional medical therapies, to help you determine which strategy is best for you.
Humani-Well brings this information in both textual and audiovisual formats. This will be made available to you through analysis, reports, podcasts, masterclasses, interviews, lectures, summits, and collaborative information.
Using critical, substantiared evidence we debunk pharmaceutical and biological fallacies and set-beliefs that will facilitate personal progress.
Humani-Well is a two-way street that creates an interactive platform for you to interact with peers and scholars. Members can thereby influence the scoop of our platform. You will be able to engage in a virtual community that will work towards the development of a new patient-centered integrative and holistic health paradigm that may result in international policy recommendations. We assist you in engaging in health asset-based community development that stems from your actions in your local ecosystem.
Medicalisation has shifted welfare in favour of medical dependency.
The rise of medicalisation in healthcare has impacted our social fabric. Its one-sided perspective on the physical body has ignored societal and psychological factors. Although welfare is vital for achieving social and health equity, when combined with a paternalistic biomedical approach, it creates dependency in the community. When it comes to medical issues, we are trained to delegate responsibility for our health problems to healthcare specialists. Back discomfort is one example: we allow ourselves to be massaged, mobilised, and manipulated despite scientific evidence that the effects are minimal.
As a result, the biomedical approach created dependency in the help-seeking population. This phenomenon is known as the “external locus of control” in behavioural psychology. In our modern thinking, we appear to have lost a significant portion of our ‘internal locus of control,’ or self-control over our own health. Isn’t it true that a pill will address all your problems?
Narrow Perspectives Improving Health and Well-Being
Healthcare has gotten increasingly specialised in recent decades. This frequently results in a narrow-minded attitude to dealing with health-related issues. The Corona crisis demonstrated that short-sighted policies proposed by government-appointed experts can result in significant societal collateral harm and potentially negative long-term consequences. The latter, which undermines health and subverts humanity.
A new integrated and holistic medical and sociological model is required for global civilization. Healthcare providers have created an aura of omniscience since the Second World War. Every day, however, we see that this position is not warranted. Medical mistakes, overly stringent protocols, restricted clinical reasoning, and a battery of technical testing reduce humans to a string of symptoms. The lack of a holistic vision of the entire persona frequently leads to unresolved problems and consequently, medical shopping.
Cartesian thinking separated mind and body, resulting in a reductionistic view of health and psychosocial well-being. Decades of research have shown that the mind and body are completely interwoven and susceptible to social variables such as poverty, which can significantly hamper the chances for optimal health.
Inadequate Scientific Information Can Destabilize Society
Throughout history, crises have frequently been heralds of social upheaval. The same is true for the Corona pandemic. In many situations, the biological and socio-political responses to the pandemic lacked adequate scientific substantiation. The vast majority of countries initiated policies based on weak or inadequate scientific data. As the crisis escalated, the gap between science and actual solutions grew more obvious.
Many societal information beacons have emerged as a result of the internet’s development. They make an effort to educate the general public. However, we frequently observe conflicts of interest on these sites. This can result in misguidances of both the population as academics, and professionals. For example, evidence suggests that a wide range of medications does nothing to improve ailments. Nonetheless, they are still prescribed ‘en masse’.
Many novel scientific findings take up to 20 years to reach a broader audience. Important information is frequently hidden in academic ivory towers or suppressed by big industry. Given that healthcare providers, social and political policy makers have little time to stay up to date on the latest findings, this hardly ensures best practices.
